Hey Everybody,
I thought I’d take several minutes of your time to tell you a little more about myself.
I’m 25 years old and was born, raised, and currently reside in Lowell, MA. Growing up, I was an avid baseball & basketball player, as well as a huge computer geek(as I still am). I currently work at an email marketing company called Constant Contact in Waltham, MA as a web-developer, designing and developing user-interfaces for our marketing products.
Back in 2009
I met Robby in college in 2005. I was always a skinny kid so entering college I was looking to get in better shape. What ultimately happened was I put on a lot of weight & only somemuscle. I partied hard and really didn’t focus too much on my nutrition, as evident by the continuous 1 AM Dominos Pizza calls. As a normal workout, I’d go to the gym on Monday and do biceps and triceps. Tuesday would be chest and shoulders. All of these movements weren’t functional. Metabolically, I was out of shape, and it stayed that way for a while.
It’s a good thing Robby got to me when he did. My first year out of school in 2008 I was working in Watertown, eating a Dunkin Donuts flatbread with a large iced coffee (extra, extra) every morning, and continued to party excessively. My blood pressure was high and my weight was at an all-time high of 205lbs. I started to workout at Robby’s bootcamp at Teamworks in Acton. I actually still remember some of you from back then! Robby quickly whipped me into shape after only a month. I shed 15 pounds in the first month alone! This was the turning point in my fitness.
I knew Robby had his CrossFit certification for a long time. When the 2011 CrossFit games aired on ESPN, I took a big interest. Robby had already introduced some CrossFit movements into his bootcamp, so I started to feel it out. Eventually I was reading articles upon articles on just what CrossFit was all about. When Robby decided to open up his own box, I knew it was a good chance for me to be apart of the CrossFit community as coach, so I decided to go for my certification in December. CrossFit is now a way of life for me and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
It’s amazing to look back and see how far Robby has come with his business. It’s his life and he is extremely passionate about it. He takes care of all of his clients and puts you all first. He has each and every one of you in mind with every decision he makes for his business, which is why I’m very excited to start coaching and helping make a difference in your lives. I’d like to give back what Robby gave to me.
We have a very special group of people here. I look forward to meeting all of you and I hope we can all learn from each other and really build up this community. In my opinion, it’s not often somebody can go for a workout and be surrounded by such cool, positive people that are so easy to get along with. We have that here and I hope we continue to bring in more people like all of you.
See you in class!
Dan
